Activity: Positive Bracelet
Levels: Middle, High
Making positive bracelets is a simple yet fun way to get students talking about positive thinking. Start by opening up a discussion about the things they worry about the most. Help them come up with three or four statements they can repeat to themselves in an anxious moment. Statements such as “I am safe”, “My parents are there for me,” or “My best is good enough” are great reminders. Assign each statement to a different color bead, and have them string them onto a pipe cleaner or lanyard to be worn on their wrist as a daily reminder to think positive thoughts and breathe.
