SELEQUITY™ is understanding the importance of self in relationship to others.
What is your favorite Mindset?
My favorite Mindset is Everything is Possible because I believe in possibilities. This was reinforced as a child as I was growing up, when one of my aunts said, “Honey, nothing beats a failure, but a try.”
How do you practice the 7 Mindsets in your everyday life?
I am reminded that in order to live my best life, I have to use the 7 Mindsets as tools to help me thrive and succeed in life as I enter into every day and what it brings.
Why do you feel SELEQUITY is more impactful than teaching SEL alone?
We are holistic human beings. Social emotional development is about building our individual, mindsets, power, and relationships with self and others. Equity is about ensuring chances for everyone to have the opportunity to reach their potential to become their best self. Both are about making a commitment to fairness, compassion, humanity, and full participation of everyone. That is the ideal world that SELEQUITY™ seeks—an understanding of self in relation to others, in a place where everyone deserves a chance to become and live their ultimate life without unnecessary barriers and obstacles based on artificial and alienating feelings, emotions, beliefs, attitude, mindsets, and limiting actions against others.
