St. Charles Parish Public Schools (SCPPS) has launched a pilot of the 7 Mindsets curriculum this fall in an effort to strengthen social-emotional learning across its campuses. The program, which will be expanded districtwide in the 2026–27 school year, is being piloted at all parish middle and high schools, as well as at Lakewood, Luling, and R.J. Vial elementary schools. Built around seven principles—Everything is Possible, Passion First, We Are Connected, 100% Accountable, Attitude of Gratitude, Live to Give, and The Time is Now—the curriculum has lessons for K-12 students. School officials claim that it enhances academic achievement, reduces behavioral issues, and promotes a positive school culture.
