Exploring the benefits of 7 Mindsets

Mindset Moments Video Series

Our Mindset Moments video series helps educators gain a better understanding of the 7 Mindsets and how these mindsets can positively impact our lives. Each 5-minute video includes a brief introduction to the mindset and related resources/ideas to utilize on campus.

Everything in Possible

Everything is Possible

In this Mindset Moment, we focus on Everything is Possible and the importance of dreaming big, embracing creativity, and expecting great results. We’ll explore how using the created lesson plan and classroom integration document can transform the way we impart this powerful mindset to our students.

Mindset Activity: Take a moment to discuss with colleagues: How can the lesson plan help you encourage your students to participate actively and authentically? What cross-curricular activities can you design using the curriculum integration guide to seamlessly embed the “Everything is Possible” mindset across various subject areas?

Passion First

In this Mindset Moment, we focus on Passion First and the incredible power of embracing and pursuing what excites us, fills our bucket, and sets our soul on fire. We’ll define our passions, focus on our strengths, and learn about activities found in our Resource Hub.

Mindset Activity: Take a moment to discuss with colleagues: What would you do often if money and time were no object? How do you find balance between work, home, and fueling your interests?

Additionally, we invite you to explore our Resource Hub activities, including “My Legacy,” “Passion Performance,” and “Discovering My Passions,” offering an abundance of inspiration to unlock your creativity and unleash your full potential.

Passion First
We Are Connected

We Are Connected

In this Mindset Moment, we focus on We Are Connected and its integral role in fostering unity through schoolwide initiatives, collaborative projects, informative newsletters, and an array of supplementary resources designed to strengthen bonds among faculty, students, and the community. This principle serves as a guiding beacon, reminding us of the interconnectedness of all individuals who cross our paths, each offering unique contributions that propel us toward the realization of our aspirations and collective dreams.

Mindset Activity: Embark on a “Live to Give” month and discover a myriad of ways to uplift both your campus and community. Whether it’s organizing a canned food drive for Thanksgiving or arranging a heartwarming visit to a senior living facility where students can share songs and discuss anything on their hearts, there are countless avenues to breathe life into this mindset.

100% Accountable

In this Mindset Moment, we center our attention on being 100% Accountable and its profound capacity to revolutionize both our educational institutions and our communities. Picture embracing full responsibility for our actions, choices, and results. By recognizing ourselves as agents of change rather than passive recipients of circumstance, we unlock the potential to shape our own destinies. Through the strategic application of Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) alongside the guiding principles of the 7 Mindsets, we can reframe our perspectives and foster unity through shared language and understanding.

Mindset Activity: Engage with your colleagues: Do we share a unified language and mindset on campus?

Utilize the 7 Mindsets and PBIS to establish school-wide expectations and guidelines, leading by example through teaching, guidance, and personal introspection. By embedding a shared language across the school community, we recognize that “100% Accountable” is a sustained lifestyle commitment, not a temporary solution.

100% Accountable
Attitude of Gratitude

Attitude of Gratitude

In this Mindset Moment, we embrace an Attitude of Gratitude, recognizing the blessings, big and small, in our lives and nurturing a mindset of thankfulness and appreciation. By valuing others, cultivating gratitude, and broadening our perspective, we enrich our teaching practice, create positive learning environments, and elevate experiences for educators and students alike.

Mindset Activity: Discuss with your colleagues: How do you prioritize self-care? What do you do to care for yourself? What is keeping you from doing this more often?

Through meaningful self-reflection and conversations, utilizing tools like the Educator Life Plan help encourage regular self-reflection and develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and increase our self-confidence.

Live to Give

In this Mindset Moment, we focus on Live to Give and provide opportunities to make this mindset come to life in the lives of students, families, and communities. Through practical application, this mindset encourages us to inspire to serve others while maximizing our potential.

Mindset Activity: Inspire others by establishing “Affirmation” and “From Me to You” Stations. At the “Affirmation” Station, cover the walls with uplifting post-it notes, signage, or murals featuring affirming self-talk such as “I am worthy” or “I am capable.” Meanwhile, the “From Me to You” Station enables students to select encouraging notes from their peers and then draft their own notes to pass along to others.

The Time Is Now

The Time is Now

In this Mindset Moment, we focus on The Time is Now and the importance of seizing every moment. Within each moment lies our inherent power. Acknowledging that we cannot alter the past and that the future remains uncertain, we choose to live fully in the present. Let’s embrace each experience wholeheartedly and cultivate inner joy!

Mindset Activity: For successful implementation across districts and schools, utilize our downloadable 7 Mindsets observation forms and measurement tools. These resources will assist you in pacing and scheduling effectively.
